Survey Instrument Operator

Grady Minor and Associates, LLC (GradyMinor) is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator experienced in the operation of modern survey instruments including level, total station, and GPS receiver and operating and entering data into the survey data collector. As a Survey Instrument Operator your responsibilities include keeping your survey vehicle stocked with supplies and maintenance of survey instruments. The position requires working outdoors at times in the woods or swampy conditions. A minimum of two (2) years of survey experience as an instrument operator is required, with experience in working with GPS and Robotic Total Stations preferred. This position is in GradyMinor’s Fort Myers office.

Senior Land Development Project Manager

Bonita Springs, FL

Grady Minor and Associates, LLC (GradyMinor) is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our experienced, competitive, and diverse Team of Professionals in our Private Land Development Engineering Department. As a Senior Project Manager, you will complete and oversee a variety of professional private engineering design projects for developers; completing and overseeing private land development projects; developing and maintaining client relations; supervising and providing leadership to your professional and support staff; preparation of fee proposals and qualifications; overseeing field inspectors and construction contract administration and other duties normally provided by a Senior Project Manager. Work encompasses all aspects of project management and engineering of Private Land Development projects and working with our clients from the very beginning while guiding a dynamic team of engineers and technical support professionals to complete each task with excellence. The candidate should be personable and experienced in interacting with clients, regulatory agencies, and other consultants. This position is responsible for the overall supervision of land development projects for conformity to contractual agreements made with clients within budget and on schedule. In addition to leading a team of engineers and technical professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare proposals and client agreements.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leaders.
  • Coordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets and schedules.
  • Responsible for the technical and professional development of project team(s).
  • Lead and actively participate in the design, plan production and permitting for land development projects.
  • Participate in the development of company design and production standards.
  • Actively participate in professional associations and civic organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field from four-year college or university.
  • Florida Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • 15 years’ experience managing substantial projects from conception to completion including estimating costs of technical tasks in commercial development; at least 8 of those years managing projects in the SW Florida area.
  • Extensive knowledge of design and construction practices.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written skills, with all level of employees in an organization.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with all level of employees within an organization as well as with clients, public agency officials and community leaders.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and support personnel.
  • Active involvement in professional associations and civic organizations.
  • Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Municipal Utilities Engineer (EI)

Grady Minor and Associates, LLC (GradyMinor) is currently seeking a Civil Engineer (EI) to join our experienced, competitive, and diverse Team of Professionals in our Municipal Engineering Department. As a Municipal Civil Engineer, you will support our team in a variety of professional utility engineering design projects for local governmental and private utilities and gain invaluable work experience on projects that will shape the future Florida. Work includes supporting and assisting in the preparation of civil construction plans for streets and roadways, drainage, water and wastewater facilities, utility plans, technical memorandums, and permitting documentation. The individual in this position will also support the Design Team and Project Managers from preliminary and conceptual design through final stages of design and through construction. This individual may also conduct permitting research and application submittals, land development codes review, utility standards review, construction administration assistance including review of materials, contractor requests for information, as well as on-site inspections during construction. Work encompasses all aspects of project management and engineering of utility projects. Candidates should be personable and comfortable interacting with clients, regulatory agencies, and other consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field from four-year college or university.

  • Must have passed or are planning on taking the fundamentals of engineering exam.

CAD Technician/Designer

GradyMinor is seeking an AutoCAD Civil 3D Drafter with the ability to prepare civil construction plans for street, drainage, water, wastewater, grading, site layouts and utility plans who will work closely with Project Managers to prepare engineering plans from preliminary through final stage.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Degree/Certification in CADD or related similar industry experience
  • Proficient in designing in Civil 3D
  • Prepare construction drawings for paving, grading, drainage, water, and sewer plans for land development projects
  • Use Civil 3D to calculate quantities and earthwork volumes, provide value oriented design suggestions, review drawings, and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards
  • Collect and analyze information for design of projects
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of collaborating on project teams
  • Coordinate with outside sources as needed
  • Review plans / Quality control
